Yeah, Sorry Tessa
I had planned to have all sorts of things up here by now, you know, Con report, hiyas, thankyous, happy birthdays (to Ken, Scott, Gillian) et al but have been catching up with life in general. Taking a while. Who knew I'd left so much on the burner? I sure didn't...Will do. Soon. In.... uh... May.
Which is only tomorrow. Gack.
My dad is coming up here this week. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the moment, you'll have to be happy with a meme I've pinched from just about everybody.
1.Type in your birthday (minus the year) in the search bar at
http://www.wikipedia.org.
2.List three interesting facts, two births, and one death that happened
on your birthday.
Oh my god. So much to choose from!
Facts:
1. 1475 - Stephen III of Moldavia defeats the Ottoman Empire at the Battle of Vaslui.
2. 1861 - American Civil War: Florida secedes from the United States.
3. 1927 - The film Metropolis by Fritz Lang premiers.
Births:
1. 1869 - Grigori Rasputin, Russian monk (d. 1916)
2. 1883 - Aleksei Nikolaevich Tolstoi, Russian writer (d. 1945)
Chose the 2 Russians because my parents lived in Moscow at the time of my birth.
Death:
1. Gabrielle Coco Chanel. French fashion designer (b. 1883)
Who I chose because she died on my birth date's year. Circle of life and stuff.
Adding one... strangity. Apparently January 10 is "Margaret Thatcher Day" in the Falklands.
Stuff I know about that Wikipedia doesn't have:
1989, Col Winchester was assassinated in Canberra. Noteworthy because he is the highest-ranking Federal police officer to be murdered in this country (as in Top Dog, high enough to rate his killing an assassination, anyhow). That was my 18th birthday.
Another Russian birthday:
1910 Galina Sergeyevna Ulanova, Russian prima ballerina

Just as long as you're still alive enough to type a post. ^_^
:-D Am. Thankye.
Although I'm starting to wonder if this concern that I'm dead every time I miss a couple of months actually comes from the wish to attend my actual funeral ;-)
Paranoia? Moi? Nah.
